A LINE Bot + React Dashboard that captures, classifies, and surfaces personal knowledge using Claude AI — closing the loop between collecting information and actually using it. 10+ versioned releases shipped solo, still in active daily use.

Problem
Saved articles and ideas piling up with no system to revisit them. Friction between capturing a thought and finding it later was high enough that most saved items were never read.
Solution
Drop anything into LINE — a URL, photo, or thought. Claude auto-summarizes and classifies it. A React dashboard surfaces items for weekly review with AI-generated retrospective insights.

01 — Architecture
Capture first, process later — always
A Claude API outage (529) caused message loss because the original flow called AI synchronously before writing to the database. Rebuilt v2.9 around "save first, analyze async" — users always get a confirmed receipt immediately, AI summary fills in after. Any collection-type product must treat data persistence as the first guarantee, AI as a background enhancement.
02 — AI Spec Design
AI features need stricter PRDs than regular features
Two lessons merged into one rule: (1) Claude's insight call took 45–90s; server default timeout was 30s — silent failures on launch day. PRDs must define expected AI response time and require engineers to confirm server timeout ≥ that value. (2) "Let AI analyze the data" produced JSON the frontend couldn't parse. Every AI feature PRD now includes the expected output schema with field names, types, and optional flags.
03 — Interaction Design
"Visible" is not the same as "navigable"
v2.8 launched with AI insights that looked great but couldn't link back to the correct items — title-based search returned zero or multiple matches. Fixed in v2.8.1 with ?highlight=id deep linking. Lesson: any PRD that says "show related items" must also define what happens on click, where it lands, and what the screen state looks like on arrival. Display logic without interaction path always ships incomplete.
